Day 0
After some (well deserved) time off after getting married, I am soo ready to get back in a gym. It was always the plan to take a 1-2 months to relax after the wedding (it’s been 2 and half months, but who’s counting). I will say it Sucks, with a capital S, to lose pretty much all of your progress that you worked a full year for, in just 2.5 months.
BUT! I fully believe if I buckle down, that I can get back, or pretty dang close, to where I was before in just a month. That’s part of why I’m starting this blog, to hold myself accountable. My first day will be tomorrow, since today is pretty much over. I’ll update on here every Saturday morning for the next month exactly what I did that entire week – my progress, weight, what I ate, my workouts, any supplements, etc. I’m also going to try and update daily on my Instagram.
Where I’m at Now
So here’s where I’m at right now. I was at 144.8lbs this morning (side note: strive to weight yourself in the morning, that’s the closest to your actual weight, but at least always weigh yourself at the same time). The last time I remember getting on the scale before the wedding I was around 138lbs. So, I haven’t gained a ton of weight, but I lost a ton of progress. I’m really not a fan of the scale for tracking progress, it only tells a very small portion of the story. I’m only 6/7lbs up, but I’ve lost a ton of muscle mass, so I’ve both lost muscle and gained some fat lbs.
You know what’s really fun? Posting unflattering pictures of yourself on the internet lol. You can’t have an ‘after’ without a ‘before’ though!
For reference, here’s where I was before:
The Long Term Plan
Now that the wedding is over and life has slowed down I want to focus on finding a better balanced routine. My worst habit is going a fitness roller coaster. I’ve pretty much mastered the mini bulk then quick shred, but that’s not at all sustainable. So after this month is over, my plan is to use this to keep myself accountable for finding a long term routine. Something that will allow me to stay ‘fit’, but not hate life lol. I also tend to get on a soap box and ramble about ‘fitness things’ so I thought this might be a good outlet to talk about the different things I learn (I watch and read a ridiculous amount of fitness videos, articles, YouTubers, blah blah) and try.
Starting Tomorrow
So like I mentioned, day 1 will be tomorrow. If anyone else out there is thinking they missed the boat on getting their ‘summer bod’ I would love to have someone go through this with me! Let me know what you’re doing, if you tried anything I did, if you liked it, whatever!
I’ll work out and let you kick my butt in the gym! I’ve been doing the spin classes at the Y and whatever small things I can squeeze in while at home.
Awesome!!! I’ll be posting on here exactly what I did all week next Saturday if you want to try the workouts/what I ate! 🙂
I’m so inspired.!!!!!! I’ll definitely be checking back next week.!!!!! You’re doing amazing. I’m on day 0 everyday, it feels like lately. Keep it up. I’ll be motivated to be on day 1 sometime soon.
Aw thank you!!! I’m going to be posting all the workouts I did this week on Saturday! Try some with me!! 🙂 🙂
